It goes without saying that the young owners of this apartment are more than in love with the epic but to translate it into a gorgeous home that is still inviting exciting and unique definitely takes some doing. The open plan living area is filled with a bright yellow couch that provides an otherwise neutral space with plenty of color while Darth Vader masks throw pillows and other action figures from the Star Wars universe instantly reveal the theme of the room.
One of the biggest challenges during the design of this multi-level house was both its unique orientation and the flood of sunlight that entered the house because of the giant glass wall that connects the living area with the pool outside.
Add to it the fact that the room is largely devoid of permanent fixtures and rigid features and it can be easily turned into an additional family room home office or even a guest space a few years down the line.
There is no lack of color inside this living space with the corner areas being utilized as quiet and comfy reading / conversation zones. Draped in simple neutral hues and warm wooden tones the kitchen and dining space exude a more transitional style with beautiful pendant lighting and skylights illuminating this space evenly.
The low pitched roof design of LeanToo helps it retain the classic ‘cottage’ feel even while ushering in a modern vibe offering the best of both worlds. Responding to the unique demands of the site and creating a harmonious contemporary getaway this fabulous Texas cottage is both intimate and open at the same time.
Increasing the living space of the original cottage structure that was set back from the street Nick Deaver Architect designed a new addition that creates a smart indoor-outdoor interplay with a series of exterior terraces.
We absolutely adore the way that custom furnishings with glittering stainless steel and silvery finishes were added carefully to accentuate the splendid aura of each room even as mirrored finishes enhance the appeal of cheerful indulgence.
